Just brought this Normandy camo M42 shell back from my trip to France. It’s a size 64. This helmet was originally an Africa Corp desert tan color, but was repainted a Normandy camo color to match the battle field in France.
This helmet was recovered about 3 kilometres from Treviers, Normandy, France, which makes it approximately 6 kilometres from Omaha Beach, where our house is located.
So this shell has some great WW11 and D-Day history.
