Description
Our M38 German paratrooper helmets are made from some of the most accurately shaped shells on the market in that both the weight and angle of the rim’s front slope are nearly identical to the originals. The liner system is aged to perfection and also has the correct horizontal stitching unlike some of the lesser quality zigzag stitched liners coming out of Asia.
Here we have a custom-made late war Normandy camouflage helmet with lighter springtime colors of base tan followed by lighter greens and auburn reds. The Germans had been anticipating the Allied invasion for quite some time in fact and knew they would be both outmanned and outgunned. It was therefore incumbent on each solider to conceal himself in the field as best he could by use of local paints and in some cases farmers wire. The farmer’s wire is actually vintage in origin and so the aging is completely natural in this example and was used during the war in order to tuck foliage, sticks, and leaves while hiding out in mostly ambush positions. This custom-made example features a single Luftwaffe decal which is actually a high-resolution scan from an original out of the creator’s own personal collection. So the details on the LW eagle are spot on and aged to perfection.
This helmet is a one of creation but can be duplicated or customized upon request.
